Parking Permits

Pedestrians Walking Along Lighthouse Avenue in Downtown Pacific Grove

Parking in PG

There are several parking lots in downtown Pacific Grove that contain reserved parking places and there is a residential parking district that requires the issuance of parking permits. Both activities are administered by the Administrative Services Department.

Downtown Parking Permits
In the case of the downtown parking lots, the City keeps track of the spaces available and assigns them to applicants. There is a charge for reserving a space, and this is billed and collected at the reception counter in City Hall. In some cases there is a waiting list of persons who would like to reserve spaces, when there are more applicants than spaces available. In such cases, the spaces are filled on a first come basis.

The cost for downtown parking permits is $60 for a 6-month period, and $120 for one year.

Residential Parking Permits (Special Districts)
The residential parking permit program does not involve the collection of fees. Permits are issued to residents of the designated district, obtaining new permits when existing permits are lost, there is a change of residents, or there is a need for guest permits. The fee for Residential Parking Permits is $5.

For further information on the parking permits program, please visit or call the Administrative Services Department at City Hall.
